GenuTrain A3 Knee Support

GenuTrain A3 incorporates a newly redesigned viscoelastic pad with friction nubs that stimulates important mechanoreceptors of the typically painful areas in the knee during movement and exercise, thereby improving sensorimotor function while relieving pain at the same time. Another important feature is the patella corrective guide incorporated in the pad zone, which counteracts lateral drifting of the patella during active flexion. The breathable, anatomically contoured Train knit also ensures that the support exerts the necessary compression. The material is suitably soft and incorporates a stretch zone in the lower leg area. This facilitates fitting and removal of the support particularly for older patients or those with polyarthritis. All of the elements are characterized by the special composition of knit technology and materials and set the tone for the overall design.

• Irritative conditions, especially osteoarthritis (found in tendomyopathy, posttraumatic and postoperative).

 Mode of action:

• The compression/decompression effect resulting from movement similar to a friction massage promotes the reduction of edema and resorption of swelling. This accelerates the healing process and leads to pain reduction in the medial subcapsular ligament area.

• The integrated tracking wire in the knitted fabric counteracts patellar shifting.

• The stimulation of skin receptors and nerve endings in the muscle-tendon transition enhances proprioception. This leads to a synchronization and activation of the muscles. The vastus medialis is stimulated in particular. The rectus tendon is left free.
